Deirdre & Christian
are getting married
Join us in Sicily
We've chosen to celebrate our marriage in the Sicilian sunshine. Ragusa Ibla is a beautiful heritage town in the south of Sicily and it's the perfect place to celebrate our love with family and friends. On this website, you will find resources and tips for accommodation and services.
We will post all wedding updates here.

Travel tips
Here is some information on accommodation, transport, and local services.
Transport
APRIL UPDATE
There is a direct bus from Catania Airport to Ragusa (Via Zama 53, 97100) that runs several times a day https://www.etnatrasporti.it/travel-plan/solution.php
The best airport to fly into is Catania Airport. It is approximately a 1 hour 30 minute drive from Catania Airport to Ragusa town centre. Aer Lingus will begin flights from Dublin Airport to Catania three times a week from May 1 (please note, at present this flight connection ends on 29th September so an alternative flight home could be necessary). Ryanair flies from Dublin Airport to Palermo Airport weekly. It is approximately a 3 hour and 30 minute drive from Palermo Airport to Ragusa town centre.
Flying from London, there are several airlines including BA, Wizz, and Easy Jet that fly weekly from the main London airports like Luton and Gatwick to Catania and Palermo (we recommend flying into Catania).
Flying from the U.S., there are several airlines flying to Catania and Palermo including Norse Atlantic. You will need to transfer flights, most likely at London or Rome. Check comparison sites, such as Skyscanner, for the best connections and, again, flying into Catania is best.
There is also affordable public transport via bus that takes 1 hour 45 minutes that leaves from Catania Airport (Etna Trasporti ET01).

There are several options for accommodation. Ragusa is divided into the old city, Ragusa Ibla and the modern city, Ragusa Superiore. Ibla is very picturesque and has the main tourist attractions. Our ceremony will be held in Santa Maria delle Scale, a church that is on the border of the two. We will have transport taking all the guests from the church to the villa on the big day (and buses bringing you back once the party is over!). We recommend staying within walking distance of the church.
There are several hotels and guesthouses nearby the church including;
Villa del Lauro https://www.villadellaurohotel.com/en/ (3 minute walk to the church)
Hotel Montreal https://www.montrealhotel.it/it (5 minute walk)
Intervallo Guest House (5 guest rooms) https://intervalloibla.it/en/ (6 minute walk)
Ibla Resort https://www.iblaresort.com/en/ (8 minute walk)
Itria Palace Hotel https://www.itriapalace.it/ (8 minute walk)
Hotel Mediterraneo https://www.mediterraneopalace.it/camere/ (13 minute walk)
San Giorgio Palace Hotel https://www.sangiorgiopalacehotel.it/ (18 minute walk)
There are also a lot of AirBnBs in the area, for example.Worth a search on airbnb.com, just keep the distance to Santa Maria delle Scale in mind.
We recommend staying for at least 3 nights (27th - 30th Sept) so that you can be a part of our celebrations on the 28th and 29th, but of course however long you decide to stay in Sicily is up to you!
